Cultural project KAUSASHAYKUN in the Andes

Identity and culture in the process of globalization

For 30 years Michael and Marion Albrecht have been in friendly contact with Ccattca near Cusco/Peru. From August 4th to September 8th they have carried out a cultural project on the topics: tradition and modernity, culture and identity, regionality and globalization. In ten subprojects, works of art on this topic were created with the people of the Quispicanchi region (Umutu, Ccatca, Kcauri, Cuyuni, ...). The results were first exhibited in the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo in Cusco (Phase 1) from 15th to 31st of August 2019 and will be the material for further projects in Germany 2020/21 (Phase 2).
